Our firm has assisted many municipalities with complex acoustical environments in developing noise ordinances that are based on the unique acoustic environment of their community. This often involves developing an ordinance that is sensitive to juxtapositions of entertainment, high end residential and bustling commercial activities in new urbanist developments and redeveloping urban cores. All stakeholders are engaged in a process to identify qualitatively and quantitatively the soundscape of the community, discuss future plans, and determine effective limits to balance commercial, entertainment and residential goals to result in a high quality, vital community.
