On opening night, critic Sandy Copperman stated, “This new facility is acoustically fabulous. The excellent acoustics of the hall bodes well for future concerts.” April Frawley of The Sun-Herald felt a “feeling of awe” in the room. “It's incredible.” And critic Devich Dun-Rawkin commented the room “has great sound in the entire handsome facility.”
This was an interesting project because the building was designed as a performing arts center for the community with a strong orchestra and dramatic groups as well as serving as the auditorium and fine arts complex for the high school. Siebein Associates provided acoustical design for the innovative multi-purpose performing arts center which involved achieving superior acoustical qualities to enhance music and theatrical education programs while working under tight budgetary and size constraints. The firm worked effectively with the Architect, Client, User Groups and Construction Manager to optimize the acoustical design of this facility in a cost effective manner.
