Gary W. Siebein, FASA, FAIA | Senior Principal Consultant presents a paper and chairs a workhop at the 162nd Acoustical Society of America meeting in San Diego, California.
Siebein presented a paper entitled "Defining the Scope of Soundscape Studies and Design Methods" at the meeting.
Siebein also organized and chaired a day long international workshop on soundscape research and design that was held as part of the Acoustical Society of America meeting. Researchers from Europe, Asia and Latin America were invited to participate in Networking in Soundscapes - Establishing a Worldwide Collaboration to address recent collaborations among soundscape researchers, practitioners, and designer/composers to establish international standards and knowledge in this emerging area.

Siebein Associates, Inc. is a leading acoustical consulting firm established in 1981 with an office in Gainesville, Florida. We have a broad range of diverse experience in acoustical design and research that enables us to provide state-of-the-art consulting services. We specialize in the design of spaces for natural acoustic and amplified performances in many venues. We have pioneered the use of advanced acoustical measuring systems to evaluate acoustical challenges in rooms as well as computer modeling methods to assess prospective design solutions. We provide computerized design calculations and model studies for proposed designs and sound system layouts as part of our basic services.
